GO2Educate Projects and Programmes

Since 2017 GO2Educate continues to develop and inspire teaching & learning resources, supporting teaching and learning in subject specific areas across Northern Ireland.  In 2018 Deborah was one of four representatives invited on to the Education Panel at the Women In Tech conference to promote connections between education and industry.

During 2018 Deborah worked as Project Manager with Diversiton (Charity & Social Enterprise) reporting to ABC Council, which involved carrying out the Needs Analysis for PEACE IV Youth projects across local schools and youth community groups in the area.  Throughout 2018 Deborah also worked as an External Trainer for YENI delivering 12 Young Enterprise programmes to young people in schools across NI.

In November 2020 the business was awarded a Silver Innovator Award by the Department of the Economy.  Deborah has been developing and delivering professional educational coaching programmes since 2021,  and more recently developed a 7.2 million euro PEACE PLUS Youth tender programme in partnership with four well-known organisations.

ENABLING ENTERPRISE PROGRAMME
Between February 2019 and February 2022 Deborah was employed as Enterprise Manager for Ballymena Business Centre (Charity & Social Enterprise).  One of Deborah’s key roles was to develop and Project Manage the Enabling Enterprise Programme for Start-Up and Growing Business.  This involved coordinating the £500,000 grant funding available for start-ups and training programmes over the 3 year period, supported by Ballymena Business Centre and The Gallaher Trust.  *See video at point 29 minutes, 40 seconds for Deborah’s Interview.

JUNIOR APPRENTICE PROJECT
This was another example of a specific project Deborah was involved in designing and coordinating in her role as Enterprise Manager.  The Junior Apprentice Project involved 7 schools across the Ballymena Area, working in partnership with Michelin Development and Young Enterprise Northern Ireland.

TEACHER LEADERSHIP PROJECTS, INCLUDING A SUCCESSFUL £50,000 GRANT
Between 2003 and 2017 Deborah held the role of Head of ICT/Computing & Whole School ICT Coordinator at Antrim Grammar School, leading the Whole School ICT Team in achieving the prestigious BECTA/NAACE Award in ICT for the school (https://www.naace.co.uk/school-improvement.html 2013)

In 2008 as part of a Senior Management Team, Deborah co-authored a successful £50,000 bid and the school was awarded Specialist School Status in Mathematics & Computing (2009-2011). The cross-community bid involved 3 post-primary and 11 primary schools. Part of the grant also paid for the purchase and installation of a Digital Creativity Suite.  Deborah played an integral role in leading and managing the two year project which focused on raising achievement and involved several cross-community initiatives to support staff and young people.
